Curriculum Vitae

My name is Julian Graeve, I’m a jewellery craftsman and designer exploring contemporary adornment practices. As a Master of Arts in Jewellery I am based and working in Germany’s historic town for jewellery production — Pforzheim.

I originally began my studies in product design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd. A study abroad at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Israel, exposed me to traditional crafts and jewellery. Finishing my Bachelor's degree in Schwäbisch Gmünd, I focused my thesis on jewellery and its haptic sensation. After working in Prague, Czech Republic in glass and object design, I continued my studies at the Hochschule Pforzheim, Germany as a student in the Master of Arts in Jewellery. Since then I am actively involved in the local and international contemporary jewellery and art scene. I’m fascinated to spread the joy of adorning by taking part and being involved in planning of exhibitions and teaching as a guest lecturer. My works have been and are included in local and international galleries and museums like the Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim, the Jewish Museum Frankfurt and the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice.
